Confess2ME ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Confess2ME mobile application (the "App"). • Year of Birth: To verify you meet our minimum age requirement (12 years or older)
• Gender: Male or Female, used for matching and displaying confessions
• Confessions: Text content and optional images you choose to share
• Comments: Text comments you post on other users' confessions
• Messages: Private messages you send through the chat feature
• Profile Information: Optional bio and interests you add to your profile

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

We automatically collect certain information when you use our App:

• Authentication Data: Anonymous Firebase authentication token (no email or password required)
• Device Information: Device token for push notifications (FCM token)
• Usage Data: Your interactions including votes, loves, favorites, and daily activity
• Storage Data: Images uploaded with confessions (stored in Firebase Storage)

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

Confess2ME is designed with your privacy in mind:

• No Email Address: We never collect or require email addresses
• No Phone Number: We never collect phone numbers
• No Real Name: We never ask for or store your real name
• No Personal Identifiers: No social media accounts, addresses, or other personal identifiers
• No Location Data: We do not track or store your location
• No Contact List: We never access your device contacts

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 Core App Functionality

• Anonymous Authentication: To create and maintain your anonymous account
• Content Display: To show confessions matching your gender preferences
• Interactions: To process votes, loves, favorites, and comments
• Daily Quota System: To manage your daily interaction points (150 points per day)
• Private Messaging: To enable chats when users favorite each other's confessions

2.2 Communication

• Push Notifications: To notify you of new messages from other users
• In-App Messages: To inform you about daily quota usage and interaction confirmations

2.3 Data Storage and Security

All your data is stored securely using:

• Firebase Firestore: For user profiles, confessions, comments, and chats
• Firebase Storage: For uploaded images
• Firebase Authentication: For anonymous user authentication
• Security Rules: Strict Firestore security rules to protect your data

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

3.1 What We Share Within the App

• Confessions: Visible to other authenticated users
• Comments: Visible to other authenticated users on specific confessions
• Gender and Age Range: Displayed on your profile as "Gender, Age"
• Profile Bio and Interests: If you choose to add them
• Interaction Counters: Number of loves, favorites, and comments you've received

3.2 What We Never Share

We DO NOT:

• Sell your personal information to third parties
• Share your data with advertisers
• Provide your information to data brokers
• Share your private messages with anyone except the intended recipient
• Disclose your identity or any personally identifiable information

3.3 Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): For authentication, database, storage, cloud functions, and messaging

• Expo: For app development framework

4. Data Retention

• Active Accounts: Your data is retained as long as your account exists
• Confessions: Stored indefinitely unless you delete them
• Messages: Stored in chat history unless deleted
• Daily Quota Data: Maintained for tracking daily usage patterns
• Account Deletion: Currently, account deletion must be requested manually (contact information below)

5. Your Privacy Rights

5.1 Control Over Your Data

You have the right to:

• Access: View your profile data, confessions, and interactions
• Update: Edit your profile bio, interests, and gender/age information
• Delete: Remove your confessions and comments
• Opt-Out: Disable push notifications in your device settings

5.2 Data Deletion Requests

To request deletion of your account and all associated data, please contact us at the email address provided below. We will process your request within 30 days.

6. Children's Privacy

Confess2ME requires users to be at least 12 years old. We verify age during registration by collecting year of birth. If we become aware that we have collected information from a user under 12, we will take steps to delete such information.

7. Security Measures

We implement security measures to protect your information:

• Anonymous Authentication: No password storage or email collection
• Firestore Security Rules: Strict database access controls
• Data Encryption: Firebase encryption in transit and at rest
• User ID Protection: All interactions use anonymous Firebase UIDs
• Content Validation: Cloud functions validate all interactions before processing

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data is stored on Firebase servers located in the United States (nam5 region). By using Confess2ME, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
• Posting the new Privacy Policy in the App
• Providing in-app notifications for significant changes

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
